Does an AI brand mention bring website visitors?
Not necessarily. A user may get what they need directly from the answer, continue searching, click a source or contact you later. Record brand appearances and website visits separately.
Separate at least three layers
Visibility in the answer: does the brand appear accurately, and is the website cited? On-site behavior: does the user click through, and which page do they visit? Business outcomes: does the visit produce a relevant inquiry, and how good is that inquiry?
Being listed in a service comparison may help someone discover your brand, but you cannot count that appearance alone as a new order.
Separate records reveal the next step
Keep the prompt, platform, date and response, marking brand mentions and source citations separately. Use analytics to track identifiable AI referrals and compare them with inquiry records. Do not force inquiries with unknown origins into an AI attribution category. One observation also cannot represent what every user sees.
