Is SEO suitable for my industry?
If customers search online for products or services, check brand reviews, or compare their options, you have a reason to invest in SEO.
Some people assume there is no point because their industry has few search keywords. I disagree. If customers genuinely search but the overall volume is low, you may be in an overlooked market. Rankings may be easier to earn, and while traffic is small, the visitors have real needs and few alternatives. That can be a strong starting position.
When might SEO not be the priority?
SEO is a major part of online marketing, but it does not suit every situation:
- Very short-lived offers: if a product will only be sold for a month, SEO may not have time to work—unless you began preparing several months earlier.
- Rapidly changing services: in an emerging industry, even the common search terms may not exist yet. That makes SEO harder to plan. However, a strong website can use this moment to define the industry’s terminology and establish standards, which can itself be powerful marketing.
